Energizing Faith Communities

Many different faiths embody a respect for the planet on which we dwell, often articulated through their sacred texts. Congregations often organize to become better stewards or land and water, providing a committed cadre of activists whose actions are driven by their beliefs.

Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake has compiled two valuable resources that congregations of all faiths can use as the foundation for their own “green” initiatives.  The first, a Toolkit for Faithful Stewards, provides basic guidance to congregational leaders on how to organize for environmental action.  The second, a Menu for Action, offers a curated list of information to get you started on everything from spiritual resources, to book lists, to food issues, to advocacy campaigns.
